Tsunami (Big Wave) in Hilo

The tsunami to strike the state of Hawaii on May 23, 1960 was generated from a 8.3 earthquake in Chile.  Much of the damage occurred in Hilo, Hawaii's, where 61 people were killed, 537 buildings destroyed and damages totaled over $23 million.
